The Honesty Box is the space where I acknowledge my use of AI in my work.

This is anything which I know was made with AI help. It also includes projects where I’ve forgotten whether AI has helped me creatively— however minor.

Simply put, without AI, my creativity and imagination wouldn’t have returned. I started using it to make fake 1970s style magazine adverts for fun.

​

I initially started writing a series named ‘The South Pasadena Series’ with AI’s help after my first draft. However, I felt it wasn’t truly my own work.

​

Therefore, I decided in autumn 2025 to keep AI’s assistance out of the creative side of my work.

​

I now use it in a strictly mentor capacity. It only helps with spelling, grammar, clarity, and story flow. No creative suggestions or edits, just advice and questions.

 

I back up my conversations with ChatGPT to Word files. I plan to upload these as PDFs onto my file share page for transparency.

I do not claim to be 100% AI free. Anything that has a direct creative input from AI will be placed in The Honesty Box.
